Sony set to sign Kasaya
Kenyan Premier League side Sony Sugar FC is set to bolster its squad for the upcoming season by signing former Gor Mahia FC Custodian Wycliffe Kasaya.
The club’s head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo confirmed the development saying he was happy to have landed the services of the goalkeeper.
“I currently have three goalkeepers in my squad but I have decided to add one more custodian for two main reasons,” Omollo said.
“Two of my goalkeepers are currently injured and I have also noticed that the department is not as strong as I would wish it to be this season. After my search, I zeroed on Wyclife Kasaya and I have been in negotiations with him over the few past days and basically he has agreed to join Sony Sugar FC in a two-year contract.
“Kasaya is a very talented goalkeeper and I believe his drop from Gor Mahia was a blessing in disguise to him. Another positive aspect is that he is still young and yet to reach his prime. This is one of my best signings,” he added.
“He will put pen to paper by Monday 21st January and join the rest of the team as we continue with our preparations,” Omollo concluded.
Sony will January play Gor Mahia in a friendly match as part of its preparations for the 2013 Kenyan Premier League season on Saturday.
