Sofapaka confirm Mugalia exit

Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka have confirmed the departure of Bob Mugalia and Heritier Luvualu ahead of the upcoming season.

According to head coach David Ouma, the Congoloese born duo will not be at the team this year.

Ouma also revealed that ex-Harambee Stars defender Edgar Ochieng’s contract is yet to be renewed but is confident this will be resolved shortly.

“Bob Mugalia left after the end of the 2012 season as he was out of contract with us and no negotiations were lined up so we can only wish him well in his future endeavors. Heritier is also not going to be with us in the coming season. He left last year for Congo but is not yet back. I heard that he is set to join an Angolan side but I do not have much information about that,” said Ouma.

“He, however, still had a running contract with us and we will be looking forward to an approach from whichever team he looks to join. The only other player whose issue is not yet clear is Edgar Ochieng. His contract has not yet been renewed but his contract issue will be handled soon.

“Apart from that, I can confirm that the newly acquired players’ ITCs are ready and on Saturday I will be releasing my final squad for the 2013 season.”

Sofapaka started their pre-season training programme on Monday 7 January.
