Coach Saleh nears Rangers deal

Western Stima have been shocked by news that Leonard Saleh has opted against taking up a coaching position at the club.

Saleh has turned down Stima’s offer to sign for the club and has instead taken up a position at Posta Rangers FC in the FKF division one.

It was widely reported that Saleh was Stima’s new coach, having been in negotiations with the club over a move for sometime. Now it has been revealed that he has opted for Rangers FC and according to the club’s chairman Yobesh Ongeri, a deal is close to completion.

“Saleh is our man and we expect him to sign any time soon. This is a good piece of news and I am very happy and proud to announce this. His signing will be a breakthrough for the club as we plan to get back to the Premier League.”

“We have been linked with a number of very good coaches in the last couple of weeks and that shows you what people think of our club. Once he joins it will be full steam ahead for us,” he said.

As for the club’s transfer plans, Ongeri says the new head coach will be in charge on that front.

“The new coach will take charge of transfers. We like to give our coach power to do what he wants and feels is good and that is what we will ensure. He will take full charge of the team and we will not interfere at all in what he does or plans to do.”

Rangers sacked James Nandwa at the end of the season and were linked with current Sony Sugar coach Sammy Omollo for a long time.
