Ndege shocked by the axe
After parting ways with ten of their players a few weeks ago, Kenyan Premier League giants continued their restructuring with Obadiah Ndege being dropped.
His place was taken by former KRA teammate Edwin Ombasa, who signed a three-year deal with the reigning premier league champions.
The striker, whose two year contract was due to expire next season, was surprised by the news when he resumed training on Monday after recovering from amoeba.
“I was totally shocked. I had just reported to training after a one-week sick leave and for sure I did not expect it, but I must move on. It is a decision they made and I cannot continue complaining about it,” said Ndege.
“But I am happy for what I have achieved with them for the short time I have been there – retaining the title. I have got my release letter and I am already in talks with two top clubs over a transfer move.”
Ndege, who previously featured for AFC Leopards and KRA, finished the season as Tusker’s top-scorer with eight goals.
