Sony Sugar have axed nine players in what chairman Charles Odero described as working towards clinching the 2013 league title.
Among the top players axed include keeper Wilson Obungu, Isaiah Omondi,Wycliffe Ochieng, Stephen Ocholla, John Kiplagat, Joseph Omweri, Dennis Okoth, Mike Simiyu and Ismael Dunga.
Odero explained that most of the players had became surplus to requirement to the club as he was looking to trim the team to only 24 players who will be under new coach Sammy Omollo.
"We decided to axe the nine players after consultations with the technical bench as we feel we will not need their services next season being that we our main focus is to try very hard and win the league title "Odero told supersport.com.
Meanwhile Sony Sugar have also bolstered the team by bringing onboard former Tusker players that include Charles Odette, Noah Abich, Isaac Otieno and Fred Ajuang,
They have also signed former Sofapaka keeper Zachary Onyango who had a professional stint in Ethiopia with Coffee Board.
The team is also seeking the services of Chemelil Sugar's dangerman Jared Obwogi together with Tom Mboya of Muhoroni Youth in addition to Francis Ouma and John Kio who were signed earlier in the week.
