Sammy Omollo appointed Sony coach
Sony Sugar have appointed Sammy Omollo as the new head coach.
He replaces Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno who has joined politics and will stand for a Councillor's post in next year’s General Election.
Sony Sugar chairman Charles Odero confirmed to supersport.com of the new development stating that they had finalised all the personal terms with the new coach who will arrive in Awendo on Friday.
The confirmation of Omollo's appointment rubbishes earlier reports that has stated he had signed as new Posta Rangers coach.
"I am happy to announce that Sammy Omollo is the new Sony coach and he will take over immediately from Zedekiah Otieno who left to join politics. We are delighted to have a coach who has top credentials and we are optimistic he is the man to lead us to the league title that we want to achieve next season," Odero told supersport.com.
Omollo on his part said he was delighted with his move to Sony Sugar vowing to help the team to reach greater heights.
"I want to say am very excited to be joining Sony Sugar as we have agreed my personal terms. I am happy that the management has given me a free hand to run matters of the team and this is the environment every coach wishes to have. My priority is to ensure I help Sony Sugar to reach greater heights next season and I believe am capable," Omollo told supersport.com.
Omollo led Tusker to the league title in 2011 before being shown the door in the second leg of the 2012 season. He later moved to struggling Oserian who were eventually relegated.
