Otieno ready for Gor test



David Otieno hopes that a move to Gor Mahia will help him lift trophies.

Otieno has completed a move to Gor, signing a two-year deal at the club that will see him put on the green jersey until the end of the 2014 season. This comes after a successful year at Western Stima, where he was one of the club’s stand-out defenders.

Otieno hopes to make an impact at Gor and he believes that he is in the right shape to do so.

“I am happy and proud to sign for a club like Gor Mahia. So many players want to join this club and so for me to be here is a dream again,” he said.

“I was happy at Stima but once the Gor deal came through, I could not resist it. I thank Stima for the time I had there and wish them the best of luck in future. My time to leave though has come and I leave with lots of good memories,” he said.

At Gor, he will have competition for a starting place like nothing he has ever seen, but he insists that he will bide his time and do his best.

“I know that there will be competition for a starting place and that is a part of being at a big club. There will be competition yes, but I am looking forward to it,” he added.

“What I plan to do is to settle and then do my best, but I am sure all will be well. “I will support whoever plays and wait for my time to come, I am sure I will get an opportunity.”
