Wadda coy on transfer targets



Nairobi City Stars’ transfer plans after the close of the 2012 Tusker Premier League season are being kept discreet, and the team’s head coach Bye Wadda says it will remain so at least for the time being.

Wadda, who took over temporarily towards the end of the recently concluded campaign from coach Gideon Ochieng, however, confirmed that there are a number of unnamed players that are being monitored, but says no negotiations have started.

He also said some of the team’s players will be off-loaded when the club goes on a break in mid December.

“We have a number of players targeted for stints here next season but at the moment it remains too early to mention names since we are yet to hold negotiations with them. As for the current players, we told them we will be releasing a few of them once we are through with training,” Wadda said.

“We will be finishing our training programme in mid next month, probably on the 14th or a day later. It is at that point that we will tell the players who are going and who will not be released, as well as make public the names of our transfer targets and all the other concerned issues.”

City Stars had another below par season in 2012, as they had to fight for survival.
