Dunga mulls career options

Sony Sugar FC striker Ismael Salim Dunga could be on his way out of the club.

The former Congo United forward will be out of a contract with Sony at the close of this month, and he has confirmed that several top-tier clubs are interested in securing his services.

However, he said he has yet to make up his mind on his future destination.

“Several clubs have already contacted me but I’m yet to make the decision. My contract with Sony ends this month and I therefore have options and I’ll decide at the right time,” Dunga said.

“I hope to be at a club where I will be guaranteed first team appearance as that is what is most important for a player’s development,” he added.

Dunga, who was Sony Sugar’s leading scorer this season with eight goals, believes he would have done better were it not for the injury he suffered during the first leg of the Tusker Premier League.

“That injury came at very crucial time of the season. I would have scored more goals and helped my team finish at a better position than we did,” he said.

“We started off well but had mixed results as the season progressed. The second leg especially was not the best for us.”

Sony finished 11th on the 16-team table with 38 points having played 30 matches.
