Logarusic delighted with award

Kenyan Premier League’s coach of the year Zdravko Logarusic said he was grateful that his efforts were recognised at the annual awards last Wednesday.

Logarusic beat Thika United’s John Kamau and Mathare United’s Stanley Okumbi in the vote.

The Croat said he was grateful that his effort was well recognised. He also showed appreciation to the team, saying that it was because of the cooperation of the players that he was able to achieve the kind of greatness he was being feted for.

“It is a great motivator for one’s work to be well appreciated. We started from very far but managed a strong finish and I am glad that the journey was not in vain,” said Logarusic.

“I would also like to note that the players, through their cooperation, played a key role in the successes we had. They listened to me and together we made great gains through the year.”

Shy to confirm whether he would still be with Gor in the upcoming season, Logarusic said that it would be an even bigger year, with more successes.

“Gor Mahia is at the centre of my heart and I will always want the best for the team. Let’s not speak so much about next year until it comes,” he said.

Under Logarusic’s watch, Gor won the KPL Top Eight Tournament and the domestic cup, the Fotball Kenya Federation (FKF) President’s Cup.
