Tusker face off with Sofapaka

Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker FC and Sofapaka will face each other in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President’s Cup semifinal match on Sunday.

Tusker want to finish the campaign by winning their second cup this season, and have put their celebrations on hold until they lift another piece of silverware, according to head coach Robert Matano.

“We have now set our sights on the next cup and that is the President’s Cup. I have told my players that the celebrations will be after we win it and we have to focus,” he said.

“Our preparations have been going on well and the morale is still very high. I know Sofapaka will be a tough opponent but I hope to win and proceed to win the final,” he added.

Sofapaka counterpart David Ouma is also optimistic his team will emerge victorious on the weekend.

“We want to win this cup and play continental football next year. We have to beat Tusker to go to the finals and we are prepared for that,” he said.

Probable line-ups: Sofapaka: Duncan Ochieng, Felly Mulumba, James Situma, Eugene Asike, John Njoroge, Humphrey Mieno, George Owino, Joseph Nyaga, Danson Kago, Heritier Luvualu and John Baraza.

Tusker: Boniface Oluoch, Joackins Atudo, Humphrey Okoti, David Ochieng, Joseph Shikokoti, Maurice Odipo, David Nyanzi, Peter Opiyo, Obadiah Ndege, Patrick Kagogo and Kenneth Wendo.
