City Stars host title chasing Tusker
The Nairobi City Stars and Tusker FC will meet on the final day of the 2012 Tusker Premier League season, with lots at stake regarding the title race.
City Stars have nothing to play for at their Hope Centre grounds, while Tusker are still in the title race and hoping to prevail.
Unlike last term, City Stars will go into the weekend free of pressure, as their top flight status has been confirmed for another season, having picked up a draw at Rangers FC last weekend.
City Stars have no injury concerns and will not give the brewers an easy time, if the conditions at the Hope Centre are any good.
As for Tusker, last weekend’s win over Western Stima showed that they can be frail if put under pressure, as Stima frustrated them all afternoon at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.
Obadiah Ndege, a second-half substitute, rescued them and should be given a starting berth by head coach Robert Matano as they continue to hope for a title win.
They know that nothing but a victory will do, even though it will not be enough if Gor Mahia beat Thika United at the same time.
Injuries have also been kind to the brewers, who will fancy themselves to beat the relaxed City Stars.
Last time the two sides met, which was on the first day of the league campaign, Tusker won 2-1 and only a brave man will bet against another Tusker win.
