Football Kenya Federation (FKF) chairman Sam Nyamweya says that several African countries have expressed interest in playing Kenya in friendly matches.
He was speaking in the aftermath of the 2-1 defeat to Bafana Bafana in a friendly match on Tuesday at Nyayo National Stadium.
“I received a call from Angola after we played South Africa they also want to face us. Cameroon as well have sent an email to state the same. Zambia also requested earlier.”
“The squad that played was mostly made of local players and they did well. We have a new coach who is trying to rebuild the team and we should engage in more games to come up with one.”
The outcome of the friendly witnessed Kenya taste their first defeat in three years at the venue courtesy of an own goal by Christopher Wekesa.
However, captain Dennis Oliech said that more friendlies will help with the cohesion.
“We should play teams like Senegal and Cameroon so that we can work on the team and come up with squad for Kenya because we have a new coach and he wants to form a new side for us.”
