Gor duo to miss Karuturi tie
Tusker Premier League giants Gor Mahia will be without two of their key players in Saturday’s crucial league match against visiting Karuturi Sports at City Stadium.
The duo of Harambee Stars left-back Christopher Wekesa and Uganda international Ivan Anguyo have been suspended after getting their fifth yellow card in the 2-1 win over Rangers.
Despite the pair’s unavailability, Zdravko Logarusic has ample options in defense, with David Owino, Yusuf Juma and Musa Mohammed likely to feature in the coach’s plans.
With four matches to go until the end of the season, a win for second-placed Gor could see them leapfrog Tusker at the summit.
That is if the brewers fail to bag maximum points against Muhoroni Youth on the same day.
Apart from Wekesa and Anguyo, the other players banned for the weekend matches include Tusker goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch, on-loan Rangers striker Baldwin Ngwa and Thika United defender David Bogere.
Thika are scheduled to face Western Stima on Sunday at Thika Municipal Stadium, with Rangers playing host to Sofapaka on Monday.
