Kadenge backs Stars
Former Kenya international Joe Kadenge has backed the hosts to spring an upset when Harambee Stars face South Africa in an international friendly.
Stars tackle Bafana Bafana at Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday and the visitors will be coming into the match as favourites, being the better ranked of the two sides. The South Africans are ranked 76th, while Kenya are placed in 128th spot by world football governing body Fifa.
“At first glance, it may appear that the South Africans are a better side but what counts now is their current form,” said Kadenge.
“The team we currently have is strong and if they play well they can easily carry the day. They should regard Bafana Bafana like any other team and shake off any intimidation that they may have. As long as they stick to a particular strategy, nothing will stop them from winning the match.”
Kadenge believes new national team coach Henri Michel will get the best out of his charges.
“Michel is well qualified and has the necessary experience to guide the team to success. I am quite sure the team will perform better under his charge than we have seen them perform recently,” declared Kadenge.
The match will kick off at 1900hrs and will be broadcast live on SuperSport 9 East.
