Abbas tips Leopards to win

AFC Leopards goalkeeping legend Mahmoud Abbas feels that the Leopards will be too strong for their bitter rivals Gor Mahia, when they meet on Saturday.
Arguably Kenya’s finest goalkeeper ever, the former custodian based his opinion on history which he feels will define the outcome of the match.
“It has always been known that the team which is a step above coming into the derby doesn’t win and that is why I believe AFC Leopards will win by any margin.”
“As much as Tusker, Ulinzi, Sofapaka are in the running, I think whoever wins the derby will win the title but you have to consider the fact that the defending champions are yet to play remaining matches which involve an equally strong team,” he told supersport.com.
“Two departments will decide who wins the battle, the midfield and the goalkeeping. The goalkeeper who will show up at his best on that day might just guarantee his team the title by denying the opponents and ensuring they collect all the points at their disposal.”
Abbas who earned himself the name ‘Kenya one’ proved his worth in country and club levels as he propelled both sides to Cecafa Senior Challenge titles as well as club championship titles.
