KPL say Top Eight tie still on

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) maintains that the Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards top eight clash will take place on Sunday as earlier scheduled.
Football Kenya Federation had earlier called on KPL to postpone the match but the league governing body insists that the match is on.
“As a federation we recommend that a joint meeting between both clubs officials, stadium management, security organs must be convened before the match is played to enable proper match management.”
“FKF also advices KPL to postpone the match to a date agreed by both clubs to enable them take responsibility of security of their fans and players respectively, earlier statement from FKF read.
KPL reverted saying taht if any of the teams failed to show up, they would forfeit it and face sanction.
“In the event that either club fails or refuses to honour the match, the match shall be awarded to the club present for the match.”
“The forfeiting club shall be fully liable and responsible for paying in full any related penalties or losses of bonuses that may be applied against KPL broadcast and/or any rights holders and/or other sponsors and/or any other contractual obligations,” the letter addressed to FKF CEO Omondi Aduda read.
