Okoth ruled out of Muhoroni tie
Sofapaka will miss the services of one of their key midfielders, Collins Okoth, in their Kenyan Premier League encounter against league debutants Muhoroni Youth FC on Friday.
The former Gor Mahia man picked a knock on the knee in his team’s match against AFC Leopards on Wednesday and Sofapaka team manager Jacques Roberto has confirmed that he will not be available.
“We will not have Okoth in the match on Friday against Muhoroni. He got a knock on the knee in the match against AFC Leopards last week and we have been observing him in training but he has failed to recover 100 percent. So as it is he is ruled out,” he said.
“We will miss him, that’s for sure because he is one of the key players here, but we have good players in the team who can replace him. I am sure the coach will find one good player to cover for him. We hope that he will be available in the next match.”
The Kenyan international did not have a great debut in the AFC Leopards match as his team lost the game 1-0, and with the loss they were overtaken by Tusker.
The game against Muhoroni Youth will be staged at Nyayo National Stadium.
