Mutiso and Wahome out injured

Mathare United team manager Kanu Muluya has revealed that the duo of Innocent Mutiso and Lloyd Wahome will miss their Friday Kenyan Premier League match against Thika United FC due to injury.

Wahome pulled a hamstring ahead of their last match against Karuturi Sports, while Mutiso suffered a knee injury during the match which ended 3-1 in favour of the Slum Boys.

“It’s unfortunate that two of our key players will miss tomorrow’s game. Both Mutiso and Wahome are out injured. We are waiting for an official report from the doctor on their progress. All the same, we have perfect replacements to fill the void,” said Muluya.

“From the look of things, Mutiso’s injury is a bit serious but Wahome is likely to play in our next match,” he added.

However, the former Kenyan Premier League champions are happy about the availability of speedy winger Jesse Were, who is fit for the match.

“It’s good that Were has been given all clear to play. He was impressive in our previous match and I am confident that he will do it again against Thika,” added Muluya.

In the first leg, Thika emerged victorious after beating Mathare 2-1 at the Thika Municipal Stadium. Mathare are currently placed 13th with 15 points.
