Sofapaka face Leopards at Nyayo
Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards host the 2009 champions Sofapaka at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Sofapaka are joint top with Tusker on 32 points but have an inferior goal difference, albeit with a game in hand, while AFC Leopards are four points further down in third – and this game presents the eighth time the two sides meet in history.
Both sides were promoted to the top tier in 2009 and none have ever done the double over the other, though Sofapaka head into the match with a strong record over AFC Leopards with four wins out of seven – while Leopards have won twice and one game ended in a draw.
Last season they cancelled out each other, Sofapaka winning 3-1 at home before falling with the same score to AFC Leopards away.
The 2009 champions have already beaten Leopards this season, with their encounter in the first leg finishing 2-1. Going into the match, AFC Leopards has collected two points from their last five matches, drawing two, losing three.
They have conceded nine goals and scored three in the process, while Sofapaka has managed four wins and one loss in their last five – conceding twice and scoring seven.
