Karuturi paid for 'silly mistakes'

Karuturi Sports coach Michael Nam was disappointed by silly mistakes made by his side in their 3-1 loss to Mathare United over the weekend.

The flowermen, who have usually been difficult to break down at home, suffered the heaviest defeat of the second leg openers against Mathare and Nam was less than impressed.

Jesse Were was rampant for the visitors as he set up the opening goal for Francis Ouma before wrapping up the result with a brace. Jacob Omondi slotted a late consolation goal for the home side, but it was too little too late as they would live to regret their missed opportunities.

“I am disappointed with our performance, we made many silly mistakes which cost us the match,” he said.

“We really should have performed better than we did. We did have chances but failed to convert any of them, Jacob Omomdi and Allan Otindo both had clear chances but failed to score.”

“I think my players underestimated Mathare United. This was a different team, from the one in the first leg, they were very well organised.”
