Onyango signs for Rangers
Former Oserian defender Tom Onyango has penned a one-year deal with Rangers FC.
Upon completion of the formal signing process, the player said that he was elated to finally settle down, after weeks of uncertainty over his immediate future.
“I cannot express how relieved I am now, and I promise to do all that I can to ensure that my new team gets back to stability. It is my prayer that the team will not fall to the misfortune of relegation given that we start the second leg at a disadvantage.”
Onyango also made it a point to show his gratitude to his former side, noting that he is the man he is today because of the lessons he picked up there.
“I hope that my former team, Oserian FC, the team in which I made a name will also survive the season. It would be unfortunate for such a great team to drop out of the league after struggling through years to make a comeback.”
The player was released from Oserian under unclear circumstances early June.
He has in the past few weeks been linked with Karuturi Sports, a team he has played for in the past, and division One side Nakuru All Stars.
Both Rangers and Oserian are currently in the relegation zone of the Kenyan Premier League, with Oserian ranked 16th and Rangers 15th.
