Sholei calls for overhaul

Calls to have the Harambee Stars’ technical bench sacked reached a crescendo with Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice chairman Sammy Sholei added his voice to the debate after Kenya was eliminated by Togo in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Sholei could not hide his frustration and disappointment calling for a drastic change on the technical bench personnel.
"It is with so much disappointment that I am forced to call for changes on the technical bench. Our national team has been performing inconsistently due to obvious reasons that are already in the public domain. We have played three matches without a goal which sends a negative signal about the selection of the team that did duty for Kenya in the last three matches."
"The technical director and chairman should also be questioned on the dismal performance of the team. We cannot sit back and hope for the best when we are not doing our jobs diligently. It is time we got serious with every bit of football business at the federation’s national office," Sholei said in a terse statement.
"The Committees appointed must be restructured according to abilities the NEC members have and not virtue of how close you are to the chairman. We are suffering because the committees were not vetted before appointments and we do not have CVs of all members of NEC to vet their abilities for positions appointed in," added Sholei.
"The NEC members should wake up. It is already morning and we can’t let Kenya remain a football punching bag for African countries especially when we are capable of bringing about change in this country."
"All NEC members should retire to their respective regions and not hang around the national office pretending to be busy working only to make money from allowances they claim for being in Nairobi while doing nothing.
