Oliech invite for Benjani testimonial
Former Zimbabwean striker Benjani Mwaruwari has invited Dennis Oliech for his testimonial match on May 26 in Harare.
The Portsmouth forward has also listed his teammate Nwankwo Kanu and Jay Jay Okocha among galaxy of current and former stars that will feature in the clash.
The proceeds from the match will go to the Benjani Mwaruwari Foundation, which is a charity trust that is setting up a football academy.
“It is indeed a great pleasure to invite you for the launch of “Benjani Mwaruwari Foundation”. The launch is scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe on 25th May 2012 at 6 pm at the Rainbow Harare Towers.”
“The launch will start with a formal Charity Dinner, this will then be followed by a testimonial match taking place on the 26th May 2012 kicking off at 3 pm at the national sports stadium.”
“I am pleased to have the opportunity to issue you with a formal invite for you to be part of my journey in improving the lives of those we inspire to be great. The funds that will be raised on the night will provide access to coaching, training, mentoring and educational programmes to unprivileged children between the ages 6-18 in Zimbabwe.”
The recently retired Harambee Stars captain is set to honour the match and will represent the relegation threatened club that Mwaruwari once played for.
Other names touted to turn up include Doctor Khumalo, Lucas Radebe, Steve Pienaar, Rigobert Song, Didier Drogba, Daniel Amokachi and Kalusha Bwalya
