Mariga in succesful surgery

Parma’s Kenyan midfielder MacDonald on Tuesday underwent a successful surgery to repair his torn knee cruciate ligament injury in Spain.

Mariga is expected to be out for seven months as he recovers suffered the injury during his team’s 2-0 win over Navano last Wednesday at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

His brother Victor Mugubi Wanyama who plies his trade for Celtic in the Scottish league offered support to his brother wishing him a quick recovery as he starts recuperation.

Mariga is expected back home in Kenya where he will continue with his recovery and he will miss the African Cup of Nations and World cup qualifiers scheduled for June.

Mariga is Kenya’s most decorated player having won the treble while at Inter Milan which included the Champions League, Serie A and Italian Cup trophies. He moved to Spanish side Real Sociedad at the start of the season on loan before moving back to Italy in the January transfer window.
