FKF, EABL, Oliech reps to meet

Football Kenya Federation(FKF) Chairman Sam Nyamweya, East Africa Breweries Limited(EABL) and Dennis Oliech’s representatives are set to meet on Tuesday to iron out sticking issues.

The meeting which will be held at the company headquarters in Ruaraka comes a day after the former Harambee Stars skipper announced his retirement from the national team.

It is said that his row with the team’s sponsor; EABL over the use of his image on billboards without his consent played a huge part in his decision to quit international football on Sunday.

A source privy to the meeting told SuperSport.com that the parties wanted to sort out the issue amicably after it created a lot of negativity with stakeholders reacting to the news of the captain’s departure from the team.

Oliech had been adamant that he would not be play for the national team until all his demands are met and the source added all parties wanted to save face to the issue that has threatened to boil out of proportion.

The Auxerre striker has played for the national team since 2002 when he made his debut and took over the captaincy in 2010.

He is currently the top scorer at the French Ligue 1 side with nine goals as the club battles to survive relegation.
