Kenyans abroad: weekly round-up



Italy:

Kenyan midfielder Macdonald Mariga was impressive for Parma in their 2-1 win over Chievo in the Serie A just a week after joining from Real Sociedad in the Spanish La Liga.

Parma coach Roberto Donadoni showed his confidence when he handed Mariga the full game where he showed the quilty that made him a household name playing the entire 90 minutes in his first game back to Italy.

Scotland:

Victor Mugubi Wanyama was part of the Celtic team that beat Inverness Thistle 2-1 to qualify for the Scottish cup quarter finals.

Mugubi played the entire 90 minutes to help lead the hoops to another important victory .

France:

Dennis Oliech failed to kick a ball as match between Auxerre and Caen was postponed due to freezing weather conditions that have hit most parts of Europe.

Oliech is the leading Auxerre goal poacher with eight goals to his name .

Belgium:

Beershot lost by a massive 5-1 to Club Brugge but Kenyan midfielder Johanna Omollo did not feature in the team as he once again failed to make the starting lineup.

Johanna has only featured in three games for Beershcot since joining the team in 2011.

On the other hand 19 year old Kenyan striker Ayub Timbe came in the 70th minute as his side RC Genk lost 4-2 to rivals Anderlecht.This was Timbe's senior game since being promoted from the youth side as he is still expected to make a mark in the senior squad.

Slovakia:

Patrick Oboya was in the MFK Ruzomberok team that lost 2-0 to Viena of Austria in a friendly match over the weekend.

Oboya came in the second half and was impressive for the Slovaks just a week after scoring his debut goal.

Armenia:

Towering Kenyan giant Joseph Shikokoti continued to impress at Gandazar where he is on trials.Shikokoti has hit rave reviews in the Eastern Europe country where he is likely to be handed a contract after the teams pre-season in Russia.
