Gor Mahia coach praises Ali Abondo

Gor Mahia's new acquisition Victor Ali Abondo has earned praises from coach Anaba Awono for his sterling perfomance despite Gor Mahia losing to Tusker in the SuperSport/Dstv super cup.

23 year old Ali was abruptly dropped by Tusker as he hardly featured in their 2011 season but the axe was a blessing in disguise to the dead ball specialists .

Ali scored a trademark goal after taking a superb freekick that beat his former team mate Samuel Odhiambo to give Gor Mahia the opener with the goal and to give early warning of what teams in the Kpl must expect.

"I am happy with Ali Abondo's performance and he is definately a huge asset for Gor Mahia as we prepare for the 2012 season. He is the kind of player who every coach wants in his team"Gor Mahia coach Anaba Awono told SuperSport.com

On his part Ali said he was happy to have joined Gor Mahia as he expects to give them the best .

"I am not bitter with Tusker for letting me go but God has different plans.I feel honoured to be playing for Gor Mahia a team with immense tradition"

"I want to give my best in both the league and the continental cup and help Kogalo to greater heights"Ali Abondo told SuperSport.com
