FKF and KPL hold referee workshop

Officials to manage Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Kenyan Premier League (KPL) matches this year are currently sharpening their skills at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.

The ongoing training will see 48 officials contracted to officiate KPL league and thereafter offer assistance to the federation while the remaining 32 will be deployed to manage the FKF Division One League.

Their training is being conducted by FKF and KPL who are taking them through physical endurance test at the stadium. “The test is crucial and mandatory for the 80 whistlers and assistants,”said FKF Technical Director, Patrick Naggi, in a statement.

At the same time the selection for match commissioners will be conducted between February 4 -6 at the Kenya Institute of Education (KIE) which will be an in house course.

The selection panelists include 2011 match commissioners led by former FIFA referees Job Omogo, Caleb Amwayi, Zack Wandeyi, Timothy Marambi, Bosco Cheruiotich Abdallah Mwarandani, Margreat Omondi, John Ngururi, Alfred Ndinya, Peter Anyanzwa, Marti Khamadi, Manono Imbahale, Samuel Omuyo and Ruel Ndirangu

“All these activities are geared towards developing the game of football and equip the match officials with the ever changing rules of the game,”added Naggi.
