AFC Leopards woo Echesa

AFC Leopards are in talks with veteran midfielder Hillary Echesa over a possible move to the club in next month’s transfer window.

Leopards chief executive officer Richard Ekhalie told SuperSport.com that the club had initiated talks with Echesa since he was a free agent after leaving Tanzanian club Simba.

"Echesa is among the players we are in talks with and he is among our top targets. Talks have not been concluded as we are still discussing terms together with the technical director's office but we hope to eventually get him on board."

"He is a very talented player and his services would most definitely propel the club to greater heights in the league," Ekhalie added.

Echesa was optimistic the talks would be conclusive.

"Tusker and Leopards have shown interest in me and am happy that AFC Leopards have already come up with a proposal and we are discussing to see if we can reach an amicable deal before I put pen to paper."

Echesa had posted a comment on the AFC Leopards fans Facebook page where he talked of his happiness in joining the club saying, "We are finalising the deal to join leopards with the technical director Hector Como and I know I will help Leopards win the league."

Echesa has had a chequered career having turned out for Nzoia Sugar, Ulinzi Stars, Mumias Sugar, Yanga in Tanzania, Rayon Sports of Rwanda, PDRMA and Deltas Sidordor of Indonesia before moving to Simba in Tanzania where he has been for two seasons.
