Sampdoria sack Ferrara, hire Rossi
Sampdoria have dismissed coach Ciro Ferrara and replaced him with Delio Rossi, the Serie A club said on Monday.
Samp lost 3-1 at Catania on Sunday and sit three points above the drop zone with 17 points from as many games. They had one point deducted in a corruption trial.
Rossi, 52, is to debut for the Genoa club on Saturday at home against his former team Lazio, where he ended a four-year tenure with the 2009 Italian Cup.
He was sacked in May from his last Serie A job at Fiorentina after hitting footballer Adem Ljajic in an altercation over a substitution.
