De Jong out for rest of season
Dutch midfielder Nigel De Jong has suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon injury that will rule him out for the rest of the season, according to AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri.
De Jong pulled up after Milan had scored their fourth goal in a 4-2 away win at Torino on Sunday and limped off the pitch.
Speaking to Mediaset after the game, Allegri said: "The lads have dedicated the victory to Nigel, who unfortunately has suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon injury that will see him out for the season."
De Jong was one of several names to join AC Milan in a summer which saw the seven-times European champions lost the spine of their squad inclusing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
