Atsu returns, Accam draws

Ghanaians in Europe are restarting their weeks after a hectic schedule in Cups and leagues. Black Stars winger, Christian Atsu is returning from an ankle injury.

The player's introduction revved up FC Porto as they badly needed a win to get into the title race in Portugal again. They did get the win, 3-1, against an enterprising Sporting Braga on Monday.

The win gives Porto hope in the title race as they now lie second with 63 points in 25 games; Benfica still top with 67.

Christian Atsu had been crocked shortly before his country was due to play against Sudan in World Cup qualifying but the injury ruled him out.

His return has been quite quick and he got some action for thirty minutes.

Two midfielders, Yussif Chibsah and Daniel Amartey saw their game descend into a farce as a result of crowd trouble.

Their Djurgarden side played Mjallby and after than the hour mark, crowd trouble started showing signs of degenerating. Beer bottles and other missiles were thrown, wounding a person in the process.

The game did not finish.

Elsewhere, Helsingborg and Ghana new man David Accam featured on Monday as his side drew 1-1 with Oster. Helsingborg are third on the league log with four points.
