Mohammed set for Maritzburg

Awal Mohammed has passed his medicals and secured a work permit to complete a 3-year deal to Maritzburg. The formalities were finished last night for the player who
joined Kotoko from Feyenoord in February 2011.
"I'm happy to complete this move. It is time to showcase myself in this new environment and justify the confidence my coach has reposed in me. He made me feel really wanted and wants to start the new season with me in his team," Awal exclusively told SuperSport.com.
Awal has, since his move from Fetteh, grown to command the reds' back four under the tutelage of Maxwell Konadu. His new boss at the South African club, Ernest Middendorp has reportedly watched the reigning Premier League Defender of the Year for awhile.
Awal's departure is a huge factor why the Porcupine Warriors had been close to signing Dwarfs defender Rashid Sumaila as a ready-made replacement. Maritzburg have also already signed Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi from Wa All Stars.
