Ghanaians abroad this week



Kwame Quansah grabbed the headlines in the Eredivisie by scoring a classy goal for Heracles Almelo who defeated Excelsior 3-0 with ten men. Here's the summary of Ghanaians abroad this weekend.

ENGLAND

Michael Essien was introduced in added time as Chelsea won 1-0 against QPR in the FA Cup.

David Amoo's League One side Bury got beaten 3-0 by Rochdale, for whom Kelvin Amankwaah played the full 90 minutes.

HOLLAND

Son of former Ghana international Stanley Aborah Junior lasted the entire match for Vitesse in their third straight defeat against PSV. They lost 3-1.

Heerenveen beat FC Utrecht 2-0, for whom Nana Akwasi Asare played the full game. Former Ghana staple Eric Addo helped FC Eindhoven to beat Veendam 2-0 and he got 75 minutes.

Mitch Apau and Jonathan Opoku both played full time for Veendam.

TURKEY

Jerry Akaminko was sent off when his side Manisaspor suffered a 2-1 loss at Karabükspor.

ITALY

Midfielder Isaac Cofie came off the bench in the 65th minute in the Serie B as Sassuolo thumped Hellas Verona 2-0 to open a point lead at the top of the table.

In the Primavera League, ban captained Inter Milan to draw nil-nil with Brescia. Fiorentina managed to hold Parma to a 1-1 draw at Firenze.

Daniel Kofi Agyei and Nii Nortey Ashong played for Fiorentina while defender Bright Addae played full time for Parma. Midfielder Godfred Adolf was brought with ten minutes left.

18-year-old Yussif Raman Chibsah played the entire match for Juventus who drew 2-2 with Cagliari.

GERMANY

In the Liga 3, Arminia Bielefeld registered their first victory in three games by beating Darmstadt 98.

Both Marcel Appiah and Eric Agyemang sat on the Bielefeld bench.

FRANCE

Bernard Kumordzi was booked on 75 minutes as a full-timer for Dijon who suffered a 3-1 loss at Lyon. Rabiu Mohammed played 82 minutes of Evian Thonon Gaillard’s 0-0 draw with Bordeaux. Jerry Vandam played full throttle for Caen who lost 1-0 to Toulouse.

GREECE

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie played 85 minutes, helping Panathinaikos to beat Doxa Dramas to open a five point lead at the top of the table.

Abdul Osman was involved in 76 minutes of action for Kerkyra in their 2-0 defeat at Panionios.

PORTUGAL

Christian Atsu was replaced just after 20 minutes because of injury when Rio Ave drew 0-0 with Academica.
