Scousers woo Samuel Inkoom

Ukraine based right back Samuel Inkoom has claimed serious interest from English giants Liverpool. He told local media Wednesday afternoon that his agent has started talks with the Scousers.

No Ghanaian has ever played for the 18-time league winners of England, but the Dnipro man says a move to the vaunted English Premier League is almost a done deal. ''Very soon a deal would be complete. My agent is still in talks with them. A scout of Liverpool came over some time back and that was how it started. A deal will soon be done.’'

The former Kotoko player did not specify the details of the deal, however, only admitting that any loan or permanent move will depend on the way the negotiations finish. '‘I cannot say what it will be exactly because nothing has been decided yet on whether I will join Liverpool on loan or move permanently.’'

Despite no word from the club on this matter or indeed anywhere else, Inkoom has began touting the qualities of the club. '‘Liverpool is big, one of the biggest names in football. So if everything goes well and God allows it, everyone will know where I am going. I hope it would be Liverpool.’'

Samuel Inkoom moved to Ukraine from FC Basel in Switzerland, where he had been moved with possible transfers to many clubs in Italy, Spain and France. He has also been a regular feature for Ghana since 2009, having featured at the last World Cup and African Nations Cup in Angola.
