Moro Abubakar

Ghana PL transfer news

It's silly season all over the world, and the Ghana Premier League has not been left out. Key players of the various teams are engaged in frenetic activity and rumours are rife. Here's a brief on who is hot and who is not.

Moro Abubakar

Midfielder Moro Abubakar has hinted his desire to leave the club and find challenges elsewhere. There have been reports of serious contacts from Berekum Chelsea and Medeama.

Sources from Kotoko, however, say the media reports that the Reds want him are false, because of the availability of Daniel Nii Adjei and Michael Akuffo, who both play as holding midfielders if need be. From outside the country, Czech Republic side FC Slovacko are lining up to take the player, as their agents have been repeatedly trying to get Moro for trials.

Rashid Sumaila

The 2011 Ghana Premier League Best Defender has confirmed several media reports of his links with Hearts of Oak. According to the player, the Phobians are a big club and every player would like to play for them.

Hearts have to stave off advances from Kotoko for the defender. Sumaila is 19 years old.

Kotoko need him for their impending African Champions League campaign, for which they are making moves all over the Premier League to solidify their position. Sumaila won gold with Ghana’s Under-23 side at the All Africa Games late last year.

Bismarck Asiedu

During the last transfer window in January, it became clear that Dwarfs' captain Bismark Asiedu wanted to leave Cape Coast. Now is his chance and reports from Hearts of Oak say an agreement will soon be reached.

However, Tarkwa-based Medeama are also in the chase. Asiedu has been key in Dwarfs' story in their return to the Premier League last season and he described Medeama's advances as one with "great intent and commitment in securing" his signature.

"We have entered into a very serious negotiations and I have told them how they can help sort out my requirements and possibly conclude issues with Dwarfs. Hearts have also contacted me on a few occasions and Dr KK Sarpong (Kotoko Chairman) also spoke to me last season," he told MTNFootball.

Godfred Saka

Apart from concentrating on the African Champions League, the former Ghana Premier League winners are also in the hunt for right back Godfred Saka.

Godfred's form at right has been impressive for the last three seasons.

He scored seven times for Aduana Stars and now wants out.

Sources say a move with fellow regional giants Chelsea is close to completion, although the player is also eyeing a move to Europe

Richard Addai

Hearts of Oak are preparing a bid for Bechem United striker Richard Addai, but the player's focus is on an impending date with Italian side Parma for trials.

The youngster impressed for the relegated Premier League side by netting 11 times in their debut season in the top-flight. Bechem United would struggle to hold onto their prize asset due their present status and Hearts want to cash in and lure the player away from the club. Addai joined Bechem United from Aduana Stars this past season.
