Eriksson declines 1860 Munich offer

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has declined to join the coaching staff at 1860 Munich, the German second division club said on Friday.

Munich said that Eriksson declined the offer to form a coaching duo with Alexander Schmidt in the future at the sixth-placed club.

Eriksson was the favourite candidate for Jordanian investor Hasan Ismaik, who has been at odds with the club leadership over various issues but has reportedly promised to continue his investment into the former Bundesliga club.
