Perisic signs with Wolfsburg

Croatian international midfielder Ivan Perisic has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, the club announced on its website Monday.

Capped 18 times for his country, the 23-year-old Perisic had been on the books of Borussia Dortmund since 2011 but has been mainly used on the bench, Before that he was with French side Sochaux for three years but never broke into the first team.

At Wolfsburg, he will compete with fellow Croate Ivica Olic for a starting place on the left side of midfield.

Owned by car-maker Volkswagen, Wolfsburg are currently languishing in 15th place in the Bundesliga, just above the drop zone with five wins in 17 games played.
