Reuter named Augsburg manager
Former Germany defender Stefan Reuter has been appointed managing director at struggling Augsburg, the Bundesliga club said on Thursday.
Reuter, 46, is the third man in that capacity at Augsburg this season, following Manfred Paula and Juergen Rollmann. He receives a contract until 2015.
Augsburg are second bottom, 10 points from safety, after the first half of their second top flight season.
Reuter won 69 Germany caps, highlighted by the 1990 World Cup title, and played club football for Bayern Munich, Juventus Turin and Borussia Dortmund. He was general manager at 1860 Munich from 2006 until 2009.
