Badstuber surgery 'successful'
Germany and Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber on Monday underwent successful surgery on a ruptured cruciate ligament in his right knee, Munich said.
"Holger Badstuber's operation, performed by Dr Boenisch in Augsburg, was a success. Bayern doc Mueller-Wohlfahrt: 'It all went well,'" Munich said on their Twitter account.
Munich said that Badstuber will remain in hospital until the end of the week and will be sidelined for around five months after sustaining the injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw of the Bundesliga leaders with champions Borussia Dortmund.
