Nuremberg, Augsburg share spoils
Nuremberg and Augsburg played to a disappointing goalless draw in a Bundesliga match played on Sunday.
In a flat first half neither side created any real chances, with Knowledge Musona only once putting Nuremberg keeper Raphael Schaefer under any pressure, while Hanno Balitsch hit a close-range effort straight at Augsburg's goalkeeper.
Augsburg came close in the second half to open the scoring on the hour when Tobias Werner found himself in space after a corner.
Shortly afterwards substitute Aristide Bance saw his header being palmed off the line by Patrick Rakovsky, who came on after the break for the injured Schaefer.
They were to remain the only real chances after the break as both teams played out to a disappointing goalless draw that keeps them near the relegation zone.
Augsburg are 15th on six points, while Nuremberg are a place ahead with eight points.
On Saturday Bayern Munich set a new record with their eighth straight win since the beginning of the season with a one-sided 5-0 victory at Dusseldorf.
The win takes the team from southern Germany to 24 points - five more than Eintracht Frankfurt, who beat Hanover 96 3-1. Defending champions Borussia Dortmund, who slumped to a 2-1 defeat at home against Schalke 04, are fourth, but already 12 points behind Bayern.
Later on Sunday SV Hamburg are at home to struggling VfB Stuttgart.
