Penalty miss pegs back Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen missed a penalty and wasted a raft of opportunities in a 1-1 draw at home to Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Ruhr derby on Sunday.
The result left Leverkusen in 12th place in the Bundesliga, eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich, who maintained their perfect record on Saturday when a 2-0 win at Schalke gave them a fourth win in four games.
Leverkusen had 31 shots on target compared to Moenchengladbach's five as they were held to a second successive home draw after their 1-1 stalemate with Metalist Kharkiv in the Europa League on Thursday.
