Wolfsburg sign Pannewitz
Bundesliga side Wolfsburg on Sunday acquired midfielder Kevin Pannewitz from relegated second division club Hansa Rostock on a two-year contract.
The 21-year-old Berlin native played 37 matches in the second division and 35 times in the third division for Rostock, who finished last in the second division in 2011-12.
Pannewitz was suspended a number of times internally by Rostock for disciplinary reasons.
According to German media, the player allegedly turned up for training once smelling of alcohol. He has also been criticised for not keeping in shape.
"Kevin has the potential to become a Bundesliga player. Unfortunately he did not always deal with his talent in a professional manner," Wolfsburg head coach Felix Magath said in a statement.
"Now he will get a second chance with us. I hope that he can use it in the new surroundings."
