Camara ruled out for six months

Valenciennes' Senegalese defender Pape Abdou Camara will be out of action for up to six months after picking up a knee injury in last week's loss to Saint-Etienne, coach Daniel Sanchez said on Tuesday.

Scans have revealed the 21-year-old is suffering from ruptured cruciate ligaments in his right knee, and will have to undergo surgery as soon as possible.

Camara signed for Valenciennes from Belgium outfit Standard Liege last January but has spent most of his time on the bench.

He came on towards the end of last Friday's match at Saint-Etienne before picking up the injury in extra time in a tackle with Josuah Guilavogui.

Valenciennes defender Mody Traore also recently suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon which has sidelined him for four months.
