Chelsea complete record Torres signing
Chelsea completed the signing of Liverpool's Spanish striker Fernando Torres on Monday, the Premier League clubs confirmed.

In a statement on their website champions Chelsea said Torres had signed a five and half year contract.

Suarez completes Liverpool move
Uruguay forward Luis Suarez completed his move to five-times European champions Liverpool from Ajax Amsterdam on Monday, the Premier League club said.

Liverpool complete record Carroll signing
Liverpool have completed the British transfer record signing of Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll, Liverpool said on Monday.

Media reports said Liverpool paid £35 million to bring the 22-year-old England international to Anfield.

Newcastle sign Ireland on loan from Villa
Newcastle has bolstered their midfield by signing Stephen Ireland on loan from Premier League rival Aston Villa until the end of the season.

Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has signed American midfielder Michael Bradley on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach for the rest of the season.

Bradley is the son of USA head coach Bob Bradley and was part of their World Cup squad in South Africa last year.

Sturridge joins Bolton on loan from Chelsea
Daniel Sturridge has left defending Premier League champion Chelsea to join Bolton on loan until the end of the season.

Blackburn sign Argentine Formica and Spaniard Rochina
Blackburn Rovers made two additions to their squad on transfer deadline day with Mauro Formica joining from Argentine side Newell's Old Boys and Ruben Rochina arriving from Barcelona's B team.

American forward Johnson loaned to Preston
American forward Eddie Johnson has been loaned from Fulham to Preston North End.

Blackpool sign Reid and Beattie
Blackpool signed Republic of Ireland midfielder Andy Reid from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee and also landed Rangers striker James Beattie on loan on Monday.

Forest secure Konchesky on loan
Nottingham Forest have signed full-back Paul Konchesky on loan from Liverpool.

Keane joins West Ham on loan
Tottenham Hotspur have loaned Ireland striker Robbie Keane to the Premier League's bottom club West Ham United until the end of the season with an option for a permanent cross-London move, the clubs said on Sunday.

SuperSport United secured the services of FC Cape Town midfielder Ashley Hartog on transfer deadline.

Santos reinforce squad
Santos ventured into the lower leagues for reinforcements as they secured striker Bheki Shabangu from Vodacom League side African All Stars. They also signed Alexander United midfielder Phikolomza Kefila and Mitchell’s Plain United goalkeeper Ernil Kemp.

Bloemfontein Celtic have signed right-back Thato Mogakabe from a Vodacom team plying their trade in KwaZulu Natal.

Spelman secures Aces move
Troubled Absa Premiership side Mpumalanga Black Aces have signed striker Phikolethu Spelman from Santos. The 1.78m Spelman, who joined Santos from Bidvest Wits, has good first touches and is strong in the air.

The player was signed after impressing the Aces technical team last week. The player had also attracted the attention of SuperSport United, Vasco and Platinum Stars.

Inter take Japanese defender on loan
Italian champions Inter Milan took Japanese defender Yuto Nagatomo on loan from Serie A rivals Cesena while sending Davide Santon in the opposite direction on Monday.

Juventus loan Matri and offload Amauri
Juventus revamped their forward line on Monday’s transfer deadline day, loaning Alessandro Matri from Cagliari and sending misfit striker Amauri to Parma.

Napoli bag Catania striker Mascara
Second-placed Napoli boosted their attacking options for the Serie A title run-in by signing Catania striker Giuseppe Mascara on transfer deadline day on Monday.

GERMANY

Schalke swoop for Karimi and Charisteas
Schalke 04 struck late in the transfer window to sign Iran midfielder Ali Karimi and former Greece striker Angelos Charisteas on short-term deals until the end of the season, the Bundesliga club said on Monday.

Helmes leaves Leverkusen for Wolfsburg
Germany striker Patrick Helmes has left Bayer Leverkusen for Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee.

Schalke complete signing of Ghana midfielder Annan
Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan has signed a contract until 2014 at Schalke 04 in a transfer from Rosenborg Trondheim, the Bundesliga club said on Monday. Schalke gave no financial details but the transfer fee for Annan, the nephew of former United Nation's Secretary General Kofi Annan, has been estimated at €2.5 million.

Dos Santos loaned from Spurs to Racing Santander
Mexico forward Giovani Dos Santos has been loaned from Tottenham to Spain’s Racing Santander until the end of the season.

The loan deal on Monday includes an option for Racing to buy his rights.

Aguero commits to Atletico until 2014
Sergio Aguero ended speculation linking him to the Premier League on Monday by signing a contract extension that commits him to Atletico Madrid until 2014.

Altidore 'loaned to Bursaspor'
American forward Jozy Altidore has joined defending Turkish champion Bursaspor on loan from Spanish club Villarreal for the rest of the season.

Altidore said Monday on his Twitter account that he will be at Bursaspor for six months, a move confirmed by his agent, James Grant Sports.

Edinho joins Maritimo on loan from Malaga
Portugal forward Arnaldo “Edinho” Lopes Da Silva has joined Portuguese club Maritimo on loan for the rest of the season from Malaga in the Spanish league.

Sevilla sign Chilean 'pitbull' Medel until 2015
Sevilla have signed Chile midfielder Gary Medel on a four-and-a-half year contract, the Spanish club said on Monday.

The 23-year-old, known as "Pitbull" for his ferocious handling of opponents, can play in midfield or defence and has spent the last year and a half with Boca Juniors. He has won 28 caps for Chile and played at the World Cup finals in South Africa last year.

Da Silva joins Zaragoza from Sunderland
Paraguay captain Paulo da Silva has joined Spain's Real Zaragoza for an undisclosed fee from Sunderland, the Premier League club confirmed on Monday.

The centre-back da Silva joined the club in summer 2009, but never held down a first team place despite the occasional exceptional performance. He was superb in last season's 1-0 home win over Arsenal, for instance, but seemed to struggle with the pace of the Premier League. The-30-year impressed during the World Cup, but made just three appearances this season.

FRANCE

Andre joins Bordeaux on loan
Brazil striker Andre has joined Bordeaux from Dynamo Kiev on a six-month loan deal with an option to make the move permanent.

The 20-year-old Andre has three caps with Brazil and has been called up for a friendly match against France on Feb. 9 at the Stade de France.
