Olympiakos held to draw at Drama
Defending champion Olympiakos was held to a 0-0 draw at last-place Drama on Sunday, allowing archrival Panathinaikos to close the gap at the top to four points with a 1-0 win over visiting Kerkyra.
Sebastian Leto scored his league-leading 15th goal of the season to secure the victory for Panathinaikos, which has two games in hand over Olympiakos.
Also Sunday, Xanthi and PAOK drew 0-0, Aris beat Giannena 1-0 and Atromitos beat OFI 2-0.
Olympiakos, which had beaten Drama 6-0 at home, looked set for an easy evening when David Fuster sent Kevin Mirallas clear with a deep ball less than 30 seconds into the game. The Belgian forward, with just the goalkeeper to beat, sent the ball just wide.
Winless Drama was unfazed, though, and defended skillfully throughout the game while keeping Olympiakos' defense on its toes with frequent forays forward, even in the closing minutes.
Olympiakos' major scoring chance came in the 59th minute, when Rafik Djebbour headed against the left post from close range. Mirallas got to the rebound, but goalkeeper Dino Seremet blocked the shot with his legs.
In Athens earlier Sunday, Panathinaikos scored early against lowly Kerkyra when Cleyton latched onto a through ball and passed to a charging Leto, who shot into the empty net in the 23rd.
From then on, however, the visitors dominated possession and the end of the game found Panathinaikos desperately defending its lead before its players left the pitch to a chorus of boos from the few fans who braved the bitter cold.
