No Egyptian Cup for Al Ahly

Al Ahly has decided to withdraw from the Egyptian Cup this season after recommendation from the club’s board.

Supersport.com has been informed that the Red Devils will not play in the Egyptian Cup due to problems with the Egyptian Football Association about Commercials.

The Chairman of the Competitions committee at EFA Mazen Marzouk said :" It's up to Al Ahly if they want to play ok and if they insist to leave no problem , we will play the tournament even if all the big teams refuse to play".

Al Ahly has won The Egyptian Cup 35 times the first one in 1924 and the last one in 2007.

"Zamalek and Ismailli will play and thats not bad , maybe Al Ahly will change their minds and we will welcome them" Mazen added.

Other clubs like Telephonat Bani Swaef and Haras El Hedoud have also withdrawn.
