Al Ahly and Zamalek will play each other behind closed doors for the first time in a 100 year old rivalry today.
SuperSport.com talked to many of the two team players before the monster clash and they agreed that despite the importance of the game it still wont be the same without their fans.
Zamalek assistant coach Isamil Yousef said :" Though we respect Al Ahly we are not in awe and must win the match. We will show them that we deserve to win the game by letting our game on the turf speak for us".
Al Ahly head coach Hossam Al Badry meanwhile confided in SuperSport saying “ I can't predict what will happen in this kind of match but I hope my foals will do it".
Zamalek attacker Abdoulaye Cisse was also excited informing us " this is the first derby for me , I just came to Zamalek from Al Masry but I know how this match is important for all fans. When I was in Al Masry I watched those clashes and I hoped to be in one of them one day and now I am".
"I want to score today, I will play against Wael Gomaa and I know how to beat him, I did that successfully before" he added with a smirk.
Meanwhile the Ivorian attacker Oussou Konan was just as confident revealing that he trusts his team mates and knows they can collect another three points today.
Zamalek player Isalam Awad said " we have had some problems in the club , but we have left all of that behind today and are bent on being victorious.
Al Ahly skipper Hossam Ghaly shared " we want all of Africa to talk about the game and the fair play between the two teams. We will miss the fans but we want to make them happy in their homes and we will".
Excellent weather is predicted.
