Kajoba sees clean sheets to finals
Uganda goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba reckons he will not be surprised if Cranes went without conceding until the finals.
The defending champions face South Sudan in Group A’s last game having already qualified for the quarterfinals without conceding.
And although Cranes coach Bobby Williamson intends to hand some untested players a run-out against the Bright Stars on Friday, Kajoba believes they have confidence in any side they put up to do the job, especially at the back.
“I’m very confident with my goalkeepers,” said the pragmatic tactician, Kajoba, adding, “I know what they can do. So I won’t be surprised if they kept cleans sheet until the finals.
“Hamza Muwonge is a very good goalkeeper but I think against South Sudan I want to convince the coach to try out Ali Kimera so that in case anything happens to Hamza, he can take over.
“We want to prepare him so that he is ready for assignment whenever called upon.”
The Cranes won their two opening group games against Kenya and Ethiopia with 1-0 score lines respectively.
